Stellantis posted a Q2 net profit of 293 million euros ($335.3 million), recovering from a 1.87 billion euro loss in the same period last year. The automaker attributed the turnaround to rising demand in North America, its most critical market globally.

Adjusted operating income surged to 773 million euros, more than triple the prior-year figure, but fell short of Wall Street estimates of 914 million euros. The results reflect early progress in CEO Antonio Filosa’s $70 billion turnaround plan, which focuses on key brands like Jeep and Ram.

Despite the rebound, Stellantis stock dropped nearly 10% following the earnings release before partially recovering. The company’s market capitalization remains significantly below rivals General Motors and Ford Motor Company.
