Bitcoin (BTC) opened at $64,052.56 on August 5, up 0.9% from Tuesday, and climbed to $64,486.72 by 8:29 a.m. ET. Ethereum (ETH) followed, rising 0.5% from its prior open to $1,868.36 and reaching $1,880.89 in early trading.
Both cryptocurrencies have shown modest gains over recent periods, with BTC up 0.3% week-over-week and 1.5% month-over-month, though still down 44.3% year-over-year. The all-time high for Bitcoin remains $126,198.07, set in October 2025.
Investors are monitoring developments in Strait of Hormuz negotiations and Friday’s July jobs report, which could influence risk sentiment and drive further inflows into crypto assets.
