Uber’s third-quarter bookings and earnings guidance fell short of analyst expectations despite in-line Q2 results.
Uber reported second-quarter revenue of $14.19 billion, matching estimates, but its third-quarter bookings forecast of $59.25 billion trailed the $59.33 billion consensus. Earnings per share (EPS) guidance of 84-88 cents also lagged the 89-cent estimate.
Q2 net income rose to $2.39 billion, or $1.17 per share, up from $1.35 billion a year earlier. Mobility revenue reached $7.36 billion, while delivery sales hit $5.25 billion, with total bookings of $58 billion exceeding the $57.23 billion estimate.
Shares have underperformed this year, down 12% versus the Nasdaq’s 14% gain. The company recently announced a $14.8 billion deal to acquire Delivery Hero, expanding its food and grocery delivery footprint.
