The new facility expands UFlex’s Americas footprint, targeting industrial packaging demand with sustainable production standards.
UFlex has opened a $52 million woven polypropylene (WPP) bag manufacturing plant in Altamira, Mexico, its first outside India. The 10-acre facility is designed to produce 80 million bags annually, addressing regional demand for industrial packaging across the Americas.
The plant incorporates European equipment and adheres to international engineering and sustainability standards. It features a recycling unit, zero solid waste discharge system, and an on-site laboratory for quality and environmental compliance. Production includes laser-vented and hot-air sealed bags, with converting speeds up to 300 meters per minute.
The investment aligns with UFlex’s broader expansion strategy in the Americas, reinforcing its manufacturing presence in the region. The facility’s ESG-focused processes aim to reduce emissions and waste while improving material recovery.
