CVS Health exceeded second-quarter earnings and revenue estimates, driven by its insurance unit Aetna’s recovery. The company now expects full-year adjusted profit between $7.90 and $8.10 per share, up from $7.30 to $7.50 per share.

The higher profit guidance reflects increases in its insurance and retail pharmacy segments. CVS also expects revenue of at least $414 billion in 2026, up from its prior outlook of at least $405 billion.

All three of the company’s business segments surpassed Wall Street’s revenue expectations. CVS’ results indicated continued progress in its broader turnaround plan, which has involved cutting $2 billion in costs and reducing costs within Medicare Advantage plans.

The company’s report adds to a solid second quarter for the broader health insurance sector, with CVS announcing a new collaboration with Eli Lilly to make its obesity injection more accessible.
