The USDCAD has spent the day yo-yoing between support and resistance, with price action largely confined between the 100-hour and 200-hour moving averages.

Support has been defined by the 100-hour moving average, currently at 1.4037, while resistance has been anchored by the 200-hour moving average near 1.4066

The latest push higher has finally carried the pair above the 200-hour moving average, giving buyers an opportunity to break free from today’s choppy, back-and-forth trading. The key now is whether they can hold above that level. If they do, the technical picture becomes more constructive, shifting the focus toward higher targets.

The first objective comes near the prior swing low/high at 1.41166, followed by an important swing area between 1.41297 and 1.41488—a former support floor that now serves as resistance. If this breakout attempt fails and the price slips back below the 200-hour moving average, the pair would once again be yo-yoing between the 100-hour moving average below and the 200-hour moving average above. That would return the short-term outlook to a more neutral stance, with buyers and sellers continuing to battle for control.
