The UK manufacturer replaces an older Domino press with a 90m/min model to meet rising demand and expand high-end label production.
UK-based Crown Labels has installed a Domino N730i digital label press, replacing an older N610i model to boost production capacity. The new press achieves speeds of 90 meters per minute and 1,200 dpi resolution, enabling higher throughput and finer print quality.
The company previously adopted digital printing in 2019 to meet customer demands for shorter lead times and more SKUs. Digital production now accounts for over 65% of its turnover, up from 20% in 2019. The upgrade supports a shift from flexographic to digital processes for high-end label work.
Crown Labels cited improved print gradations and text reversals as key benefits of the N730i, which features a seven-color configuration including orange and violet inks.
