Pharmaceutical firm Sunshine Biopharma Inc. (NASDAQ:SBFM) on Tuesday said it received regulatory approval to introduce its 2mg generic Dienogest tablets to the Canadian market.

The significant milestone marks the company’s strategic expansion into women’s healthcare, specifically targeting first-line therapy for pelvic pain associated with endometriosis

Expanding Into Women’s Health Sector Dienogest serves as the direct generic equivalent to the brand-name medication, Visanne. The therapeutic tablet functions by attaching to progesterone receptors, delivering localized anti-inflammatory benefits, and gently suppressing hormones.

Through these targeted mechanisms of action, the medication effectively alleviates severe endometriosis-related discomfort by actively shrinking the growth of abnormal tissue. The women’s health product will be distributed exclusively via Nora Pharma Inc., the company’s wholly owned Canadian subsidiary. Nora Pharma has already established a distribution network.
