The acquisition expands Antalis’s European footprint in custom packaging, a segment it identifies as a key growth driver.
Antalis has acquired Speidel Verpackungen, a German manufacturer of custom packaging solutions, strengthening its position in Europe. The deal’s financial terms were not disclosed.
Speidel Verpackungen, founded in 1981, employs 60 people and generated nearly €17m ($19.5m) in revenue last year. The company specializes in packaging for sectors including medical technology, automotive, and mechanical engineering, using materials such as corrugated board, wood, and foam. Antalis last year acquired UK-based The Packaging Company (Midlands) to diversify its offerings.
Antalis CEO Hervé Poncin called the acquisition a strategic fit, citing Speidel’s expertise in bespoke packaging as complementary to its existing operations. Speidel’s managing director, Rainer Speidel, said the deal would provide resources to accelerate growth and expand sustainable packaging solutions.
