Turkey’s July inflation slows to 31.7% year-on-year
Turkey’s Consumer Price Index slowed to 31.7% year-on-year in July from 32.1% in June.
The slowdown masks strong underlying price momentum, with smoothed headline and core inflation above 2% month-on-month.
The Istanbul CPI data shows inflation running closer to 40% year-on-year, while the newly introduced series reports 5%-pts slower inflation at 35%.
