The world’s largest asset manager expands into tokenized money market funds for stablecoin reserves, targeting institutional investors.
BlackRock launched a tokenized money market fund, the BlackRock Daily Reinvestment Stablecoin Reserve Vehicle (BRSRV), designed for stablecoin reserve management. The fund invests in cash and short-term U.S. Treasuries while recording ownership on Solana, Ethereum, and Tempo blockchains.
The product mirrors BlackRock’s existing Select Treasury-Based Liquidity Fund (BSTBL) but offers on-chain shares via approved wallets managed by transfer agent Securitize. Tokenized Treasury funds have seen growing demand as institutions seek high-quality reserve assets for digital finance.
BlackRock stated the move reflects rising client interest in integrating traditional money market solutions with digital markets. The fund operates through a permissioned system, restricting access to institutional investors.
