Nvidia announced its Vera CPU is now powering its electronic design automation workflows, improving verification and simulation speeds by up to 1.5x. The move leverages Nvidia’s own silicon to design next-generation CPUs and GPUs, creating a self-reinforcing development cycle.
The Vera CPU, featuring 88 custom Olympus cores, is deployed in clusters to accelerate logic simulation and formal verification. Nvidia projects $20 billion in Vera sales this fiscal year, tapping into a $200 billion addressable server CPU market. The company’s next CPU, Rosa, will also rely on this pipeline, enhancing efficiency.
While the strategy strengthens Nvidia’s competitive edge, skeptics note the stock’s valuation remains a point of debate amid rapid growth expectations.
