OLIX secures $312m in Series B funding led by Arm and existing investors to scale its frontier AI inference hardware.

UK-based semiconductor startup OLIX has raised $312m in a Series B round, valuing the company at $3.3bn. The funding included participation from Arm, Fundomo, Hudson River Trading, and Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings, alongside expanded commitments from existing investors like Plural and Hummingbird Ventures.

OLIX specializes in end-to-end AI inference infrastructure, designing chips, lasers, and networks to optimize high-demand workloads. The company argues that current AI hardware relies on inefficient general-purpose chips, while its X-1 platform uses specialized, flexible chips connected via optical interconnects to reduce latency and energy costs.

The startup’s first chip, DX-1, targets decode acceleration for AI model outputs, aiming to address bottlenecks in large data centers. The funding will support scaling production and deployment of its systems.
