Japanese yen-buying interventions push the US Dollar Index down after a three-day rally, reversing early gains.
The US Dollar Index (DXY) retreated to near $77.50 during Asian trading, erasing three consecutive sessions of gains. The drop followed reports of Japanese authorities intervening in foreign-exchange markets to support the yen.
Earlier, the DXY had climbed to around 101.50 before the intervention. The index tracks the USD against a basket of six major currencies, including the yen. No official confirmation of the intervention size was provided.
Markets showed limited immediate reaction beyond the DXY pullback, with traders awaiting further signals on currency policy.
