South Korean exchanges recorded $367 million in stablecoin outflows in June, marking 18 consecutive months of net transfers abroad. The outflows reflect ongoing demand for overseas crypto products, including derivatives and tokenized assets, which are restricted domestically.

Data from the Financial Supervisory Service showed total June outflows of $1.81 billion, offset by $1.44 billion in inflows from foreign platforms. Market participants cited limited access to decentralized finance and staking products as key drivers of the trend.

Regulators are considering tighter oversight of cross-border crypto activity as outflows persist. Lawmakers have urged swift regulatory improvements to enhance investor protection amid the sustained transfers.
