A flaw in Coldcard’s seed generation process has resulted in estimated losses of 1,367 BTC, valued at $88.6 million, across 4,585 addresses. The exploit, which stems from a non-random number generator, has triggered a third wave of attacks over the weekend.

The volume of stolen Bitcoin nearly matches the 39,900 BTC transferred in November 2022 following FTX’s collapse. Analysts warned the attack remains active, advising users to move funds from affected Coldcard-generated addresses immediately.

Market observers noted the incident has accelerated consolidation in crypto markets, with some interpreting the flight from vulnerable wallets as a bullish signal for secure alternatives.
