Newell Brands reported $1.994 billion in Q2 net sales, beating estimates and marking its first year-over-year growth in over four years.

Newell Brands (NWL) posted a 3% rise in second-quarter net sales to $1.994 billion, surpassing the $1.978 billion analysts expected. Core sales increased 2.3%, while adjusted earnings reached 42 cents per share, more than double the 19-cent consensus estimate.

The growth follows a five-year streak of declines, with the stock losing 74% of its value. A $126 million pretax tariff recovery boosted earnings by 21 cents per share, though underlying earnings still exceeded guidance at 21 cents.

Shares jumped 15% to near $5.90, as investors reacted to the first year-over-year sales growth since 2021. CEO Chris Peterson attributed the turnaround to operational improvements beyond one-time benefits.
