American Express reported a 10% year-over-year increase in total revenue to $19.6 billion for the quarter ending in June, driving per-share income up to $4.53 from $4.08. The company raised its 2026 revenue growth guidance to 10%, up from a prior 9%-10% range, targeting a top line above $72.2 billion.

Despite the revenue upgrade, American Express maintained its full-year earnings per share forecast at $17.30-$17.90. The company attributed the decision to increased investments in customer acquisition and technology, with marketing spend expected to rise 10% in the second half of 2026.

Management highlighted the acquisition of TheFork as a long-term growth driver, signaling a focus on expanding digital services.
