Attackers stole 1,000 BTC from 1,196 wallets
A recent attack on bitcoin cold wallets resulted in the theft of over $70 million in BTC.
The attack, which occurred on July 30, saw 1,082.65 BTC swept from 1,196 wallets in a 41-minute span.
The stolen funds, now sitting in four addresses, were taken due to a firmware flaw in certain Coldcard hardware wallets that made seed phrases computationally enumerable, allowing attackers to reconstruct private keys without accessing the devices.
