CL reports 100 basis points gross-margin expansion and $1.4 billion returned to shareholders in Q2 2026 amid global volatility.

Colgate-Palmolive delivered broad-based organic sales growth and gross-margin expansion of 100 basis points in the second quarter of 2026. The company cited strength in emerging markets, including India, Brazil, Mexico, and China, as key drivers of performance amid softer category trends in North America and elevated competition.

Free cash flow rose 18% through the quarter, and the company returned $1.4 billion to shareholders. Executives highlighted pricing, product mix, and productivity improvements as contributors to margin expansion, along with a modest benefit from tariff refunds.

The company also announced the retirement of John Faucher, executive vice president of M&A and special projects, effective at the end of September. CEO Noel Wallace noted Faucher’s 40th quarterly earnings call with the company.
