Real-world asset perpetual futures volumes on Hyperliquid and Binance have climbed to nearly match Bitcoin perpetual futures, totaling $22.8 billion in equity-linked contracts. Commodities and indexes contributed $9.1 billion and $4.2 billion, respectively, while ETFs added $338 million to the segment’s growth.

The broader crypto derivatives market saw aggregate futures trading volume of $821.4 billion over the past seven days. RWA perpetuals accounted for roughly 7.5% of this total, reflecting a rapid but still modest share of the market. Earlier this month, Pantera Capital highlighted perpetual futures as a potential dominant trading instrument beyond crypto, citing advantages like 24/7 trading and no contract expiries.

Traditional finance has taken notice, with Intercontinental Exchange CEO Jeffrey Sprecher advocating for regulatory parity between onchain perpetual futures and existing market structures. Despite the growth, RWA perpetuals remain a niche segment in the crypto derivatives space.
