The agreement aims to reduce reliance on China for critical magnet components used in defense, EVs, and renewable energy sectors.
REalloys (NASDAQ: ALOY) has formed a strategic partnership with JS Link to create a fully integrated rare earth magnet platform in North America. The initiative combines feedstock, separation, metallization, and manufacturing under a single industrial strategy, targeting sectors like defense, electric vehicles, and wind turbines currently dominated by China.
China currently controls over 80% of the global rare earth magnet supply chain, a critical component for advanced technologies. The partnership follows increasing U.S. efforts to secure domestic supply chains amid geopolitical tensions and trade restrictions.
The collaboration marks one of the first non-Chinese attempts to establish end-to-end production capabilities, addressing vulnerabilities in national security and industrial competitiveness.
