Amazon reports Q2 EPS of $1.99 and net sales of $200.6B, beating estimates, but Q3 sales guidance falls short of expectations.

Amazon posted second-quarter earnings per share of $1.99 on net sales of $200.6B, surpassing estimates of $5.75 EPS and $197.01B in sales. Operating income reached $27.46B, with a margin of 13.7%, above the expected 12.0%.

AWS net sales grew 37% year-over-year, excluding foreign exchange effects, to $42.23B, outpacing the $40.57B estimate. North America sales hit $116.18B, while physical stores contributed $5.79B. However, the company’s Q3 sales guidance of $197.0B–$202.0B trails the $203.93B estimate.

Shares may face pressure as investors weigh strong Q2 performance against a cautious outlook for the current quarter.
