Columbia Seligman Global Technology Fund posted a 50.34% Q2 return, outpacing the MSCI World IT Index’s 33.65% gain.
Columbia Threadneedle’s Seligman Global Technology Fund reported a 50.34% return for Q2 2026, driven by strong semiconductor and hardware stock picks. The MSCI World Information Technology Index rose 33.65% in the same period.
The fund’s outperformance stemmed from allocations in semiconductors, tech hardware, and software, alongside an off-benchmark bet on electrical equipment. Weakness in financials, consumer discretionary, and healthcare sectors partially offset gains. AI infrastructure spending and easing geopolitical tensions fueled the tech rally.
Intel Corporation (INTC) was highlighted as a key contributor to the fund’s performance. The fund expects sustained AI and data-center investment but warns of valuation pressures from geopolitical risks and high interest rates.
