Collaboration aims to leverage Samsung’s cloud and security with Dunamu’s blockchain expertise amid rising digital asset demand.
Samsung SDS and Dunamu, operator of South Korea’s Upbit exchange, are developing stablecoin infrastructure. The initiative combines Samsung’s IT and cloud services with Dunamu’s blockchain capabilities to capture growing digital finance opportunities.
Samsung SDS reported Q2 revenue of 3.72 trillion Korean won ($2.6 billion), up 5.9% year on year, driven by a 17% increase in cloud revenue. External cloud business revenue surged 75%, supported by demand for its cloud platform and GPU-as-a-service offerings.
The company also outlined plans to expand AI infrastructure from 110 megawatts to 230 MW by 2029 and over 800 MW by 2031, aligning with its broader push into AI and digital finance services.
