Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Core Scientific (CORZ) announced a partnership to deploy AI data center infrastructure starting with 530 megawatts in 2027, scalable to 2.5 gigawatts. The agreement targets a key bottleneck in AI accelerator deployment by combining AMD’s GPUs and CPUs with Core Scientific’s infrastructure.
The deal is anchored by 15-year contracts for five sites, with potential base contracted revenue of $14 billion. However, the figure is not recognized revenue, and no GPU-purchase commitment is disclosed, limiting direct impact on AMD chip sales.
AMD will receive warrants to buy Core Scientific stock, aligning its interests with the infrastructure provider’s execution and offering potential equity upside. The warrants may dilute existing CORZ shareholders if exercised.
