The company’s metal packaging unit reduced Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 16% and Scope 3 by 18% as part of sustainability targets.
Ardagh Group’s metal packaging business achieved a 16% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions since 2020, according to its latest sustainability report. The decline aligns with broader environmental goals, including a 42% absolute emissions cut target by 2030 for both metal and glass units.
The report also highlighted a 18% fall in Scope 3 emissions for the metal unit and a 17% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions for the glass packaging division. Renewable electricity accounted for 47% of metal packaging’s power consumption, while glass packaging reached 25%.
All metal packaging production sites have achieved zero waste to landfill, with the unit targeting full compliance by 2025. The company, which posted $9.6bn in sales, operates 58 manufacturing sites across 16 countries.
