The latest update expands Europe’s regulated crypto service providers under MiCA rules, with 15 new firms approved by ESMA.
Europe’s markets regulator added 15 crypto asset service providers (CASPs) to its MiCA register, including a BNY Mellon unit, expanding the list of regulated firms. The update follows the July 1 deadline for compliance under the EU’s new crypto framework, bringing the total number of approved providers to 29 since the regulation took effect.
Among the newly listed firms are Bulgaria’s Altcoins BG, Denmark’s SafeLynx Technologies and Januar, and Latvia-registered Bleap and Nodu Digital. ESMA’s previous update included major players like Ripple Payments Europe, signaling ongoing efforts to integrate established and emerging firms into the regulatory fold.
While the register grows, ESMA reported no changes to other MiCA-related categories, such as asset-referenced tokens or non-compliant entities. Industry executives warn that compliance costs may strain smaller firms, potentially limiting market participation over time.
