ICE can search personal credit card data without a warrant
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has access to personal credit card data through a $125 million deal with Thomson Reuters.
The data is collected by credit card companies and shared with credit bureaus, which then provide it to Thomson Reuters.
Thomson Reuters incorporates the data into its investigative data product, CLEAR, which is sold to law enforcement agencies, including ICE.
This allows ICE to search through personal data, including names, Social Security numbers, and addresses, without a warrant.
