A Paraná farm secured a $19,420 loan using ten blockchain-tracked cows, marking the first tokenized livestock deal on B3.
A dairy farm in Paraná, Brazil, secured a R$100,000 ($19,420) loan by using ten cows as collateral, registered on Brazil’s B3 stock exchange. The cows were tokenized via blockchain IDs generated from AI-sensor collar data, eliminating traditional farm inspections and reducing collateral discounts.
The deal involved a CPR-F rural credit certificate, with the loan rights sold to Target FIDC and registered on B3. The cows, valued at R$120,000 ($23,310), were tracked using Cowmed’s smart collars, which monitor health, behavior, and location.
This marks the first formal acceptance of tokenized livestock collateral on a major stock exchange, testing blockchain’s potential to expand credit access for farmers.
