Valley National Bancorp reported Q2 2026 net income of $171 million, or $0.30 per share on an adjusted basis, as net interest income rose to $488 million. Net interest margin expanded to 3.20%, supported by higher loan balances and yields.

Customer deposits increased by $1.1 billion and loans grew by $1.6 billion, with strength in commercial and industrial lending and owner-occupied commercial real estate. The bank also reduced its CRE concentration ratio and kept deposit costs stable.

Management expressed optimism for 2026, expecting loan growth near the high end of guidance and fee income toward its target range. Efficiency improved, with the ratio dropping to 52.1%, aided by AI and technology investments.
