Broker launches specialized practice to address rising demand for risk transfer and capital optimization amid market pressures.
Willis Re has launched a Global Life Reinsurance Practice to provide advisory and broking services to life insurers, reinsurers, and pension providers. The unit aims to support clients in risk transfer, capital management, and balance sheet optimization in a challenging market environment.
The practice was developed with Willis Towers Watson’s insurance consulting division and will leverage analytical resources across mortality, longevity, and pension risk transfer. It will offer services including portfolio structuring, pricing support, and strategic risk transfer advice. Christian Howells, former head of international insurance solutions at Macquarie Asset Management, leads the initiative.
Willis Re stated the new unit strengthens its position in the global reinsurance market, responding to demand for advanced solutions amid regulatory changes and capital pressures.
