US index futures declined in early European trading Thursday, with Dow Jones futures down 0.56% at 52,160. S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures fell 0.54% and 0.74%, respectively, as investors reacted to rising Middle East tensions and uncertainty over massive AI investments.

The drop follows threats of US strikes on Iranian infrastructure after attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, prompting retaliation warnings from Tehran. Houthi militants also targeted Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea, raising concerns over crude export routes. Markets were further pressured by shifting Fed policy expectations under new Chair Kevin Warsh.

Wall Street closed lower Wednesday, with the Nasdaq Composite down 0.57% and the S&P 500 off 0.14%. Alphabet shares slid over 3% in after-hours trading, contributing to tech sector weakness.
