Fairshake and affiliates hold $191 million to support pro-cryptocurrency candidates in upcoming US elections.
A political action committee aligned with the cryptocurrency industry has spent $1 million to influence Michigan’s Democratic primary race. The spending targets incumbent Rep. Shri Thanedar, who previously secured 54.9% of the primary vote in 2024 with similar backing.
Fairshake and its affiliates reported $191 million available for election spending, aiming to elect candidates supportive of digital assets. Thanedar has voted for multiple crypto-related bills, including the CLARITY Act and GENIUS Act, despite losing $600,000 in Q2 2026 after investing $3.7 million of campaign funds in crypto firms.
Other industry-backed groups, such as Fellowship and the Blockchain Leadership Fund, are also active in supporting pro-crypto candidates for Congress.
