Tech firms issue $489 billion in AI-related debt this year
Tech companies have issued $489 billion in debt to fund their AI ambitions, already surpassing last year’s total.
This year’s debt issuance includes $53 billion raised by Amazon, $20 billion by Alphabet, and $25 billion by Oracle.
The debt market is expected to continue supporting the AI build-out, with various financing markets likely to be required.
Meta has also tapped debt markets, following its $30 billion bond offering with additional financing for AI infrastructure projects.
