Pakistan creates unit to probe cybercrime and financial fraud linked to cryptocurrency
Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency has established a dedicated unit to investigate cases involving cybercrime and financial fraud linked to cryptocurrency.
The new unit aims to address the increasing use of digital assets in crimes.
The establishment of the unit follows the creation of the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority in July 2025, which has already approved licenses for major exchanges, including Binance and HTX.
