VMI boosted full-year guidance following stronger-than-expected earnings driven by infrastructure demand and margin expansion.
Valmont Industries reported second-quarter net sales of $1.12 billion, up 6.5% year-over-year, and diluted EPS of $6.14, a 25.8% increase. The results exceeded expectations, led by a 33.9% surge in North America Utility and 16.6% growth in Coatings within its Infrastructure segment.
Infrastructure demand was fueled by grid modernization, data center expansion, and electrification projects, supporting a multiyear investment cycle. Agriculture sales declined 15.8% due to cautious North American farm spending and Middle East project delays, though operating margins improved to 16.5% on cost controls.
Management raised its full-year sales and earnings outlook, citing strong execution and a 130-basis-point expansion in adjusted operating margin. CEO Avner Applbaum called the quarter a reflection of the company’s strategic progress.
