Underlying revenue growth accelerated to 5%, up from 4% in the prior quarter, supported by demand for risk and consulting services despite pricing pressure in commercial insurance markets.
Risk and insurance services revenue reached $4.8 billion, up 4% year-over-year, with adjusted operating income rising 3% to $1.7 billion. Marsh Risk generated $4.1 billion in revenue, a 6% reported increase, while Guy Carpenter saw sequential growth improvements in the U.S. and international markets, including 8% growth in Latin America.
The company repurchased $200 million in stock during the quarter, bringing first-half buybacks to $1.5 billion. Management highlighted solid performances in the U.S., EMEA, and Asia-Pacific, with underlying growth improving across regions.
