The stock of artificial intelligence (A.I). data centre operator Nebius (NASDAQ: $NBIS) is up 7% on news that chipmaker Nvidia (NASDAQ: $NVDA) has taken a 9.3% stake in the company.

Nvidia had previously invested $2 billion U.S. in Nebius. The two companies collaborate on A.I. infrastructure, fleet management, inference, and factory design. Nvidia has been taking stakes in leading A.I. companies in recent months. The microchip giant contributed $30 billion U.S. to the most recent funding round of OpenAI and participated in Anthropic’s $30 billion U.S. equity raise in February of this year. Earlier in July, Nebius raised $775 million U.S. in debt through a corporate bond sale.
