Microsoft has committed billions to expand its partnership with French AI startup Mistral, funding data center growth in Europe. The investment supports Mistral’s infrastructure, including thousands of NVIDIA Vera Rubin GPUs, to enhance AI training and deployment for cloud and enterprise customers.

Two of Mistral’s models, Medium 3.5 and OCR 4, are now available on Microsoft Foundry and Copilot Studio. The agreement also enables deployment via Azure Local, allowing regulated industries to run AI workloads in isolated or disconnected environments.

The collaboration aims to combine U.S. and European technology, addressing demand for localized AI solutions. Microsoft did not disclose the exact financial terms of the deal.
