General Motors reported second-quarter revenue of $48.03 billion and adjusted earnings of $3.57 per share on Tuesday, topping Wall Street expectations and prompting the automaker to raise several full-year forecasts for the second time in 2026.

Wall Street had penciled in adjusted EPS of $3.20 on revenue of $47.01 billion, according to CNBC

On the upside, GM’s updated full-year targets now call for adjusted EBIT of $14 billion to $16 billion and adjusted EPS of $12 to $14, both shifted $500 million higher than the previous ranges of $13.5 billion to $15.5 billion and $11.50 to $13.50, respectively; adjusted automotive free cash flow guidance also moved up by half a billion dollars to $9.5 billion to $11.5 billion. Partially offsetting those improvements, GM trimmed its net income attributable to stockholders target to $8.4 billion to $9.8 billion from the already-reduced prior range of $9.9 billion to $11.4 billion, reflecting charges the company has recorded so far this year. North American operations drove the quarter’s performance.

GM’s North America segment posted adjusted EBIT of $3.45 billion, up 42.7% from the same period a year earlier, with an adjusted margin of 8.6%. Company-wide adjusted EBIT rose 29.8% to $3.94 billion. Net income attributable to stockholders fell 31.1% year over year to $1.3 billion, weighed down by ongoing charges stemming from the company’s retreat from electric vehicle spending.
