Novartis reports $14.41 billion in Q2 revenue, driven by 18 percentage points of volume growth offsetting generic competition.

Novartis AG (NVS) posted a 3% increase in second-quarter net sales to $14.41 billion, led by robust demand for newer medicines. Volume growth contributed 18 percentage points, while generic competition and pricing pressures reduced sales by 14 and 3 percentage points, respectively. Currency movements added 2 percentage points to revenue.

Newer therapies saw significant gains, with Kisqali sales up 43% to $1.70 billion and Kesimpta rising 32% to $1.42 billion. Scemblix and Pluvicto surged 89% and 43%, respectively, while Leqvio grew 59%. These increases countered declines in older drugs like Entresto, which fell 51% to $1.18 billion.

Operating income dipped 2% to $4.75 billion, reflecting lower gross profit despite cost savings. Net income declined 19% to $3.26 billion, pressured by higher expenses.
