Nvidia Corp remains the favorite to end July as the world’s most valuable company, with a 70% probability on prediction platform Polymarket. Apple Inc trails at 29%, following a brief overtaking last week when its market cap reached $4.8 trillion, surpassing Nvidia’s $4.92 trillion.

The shift follows a sharp sell-off in semiconductor and AI stocks, which reshuffled rankings. Nvidia had led since June 2025 and became the first company to cross $5 trillion in October. Apple, up over 22% this year, has benefited from lighter AI spending amid the chip sector’s downturn.

Nvidia shares fell nearly 4% at Friday’s open before recovering, as investors questioned the returns on AI infrastructure investments. The filing for IPOs by OpenAI and Anthropic has added to market uncertainty.
