Approval aligns with UK Plastics Packaging Tax changes set for 2027, requiring 30% post-consumer recycled content.
Amcor has received RecyClass Recycled Plastics Traceability Certification for its Bontite Sustane stretch films, which contain post-consumer recycled (PCR) content. The certification supports customers preparing for the UK Plastics Packaging Tax (PPT) update in April 2027, when only PCR content will count toward the 30% threshold.
The Bontite films, produced in the UK and Belgium, are used in beverage, retail, and manufacturing sectors for pallet security. RecyClass certification ensures independent auditing and compliance with European standards, replacing pre-consumer recycled content (PIR) eligibility under the new PPT rules.
Amcor noted the films combine strength and clarity, offering puncture resistance and stretch performance for transit applications. Additional flexible packaging products at UK sites also received certification.
