India’s market regulator expands its forensic audit roster to enhance oversight of listed firms’ financial statements.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has added 18 companies to its panel of forensic auditors, including Ernst & Young, KPMG, and Grant Thornton Bharat. The firms will conduct audits of listed companies’ financial statements to bolster transparency and investor protection.
The expansion follows a public procurement process initiated in November 2025, updating a roster first published in April 2025. The empanelment is valid for three years, reflecting SEBI’s push for stricter financial scrutiny amid growing market complexity.
Newly added firms include Nangia & Co, J C Kabra & Associates, and J Singh & Associates. A senior partner at Nangia & Co highlighted the firm’s expertise in forensic investigations and its role in safeguarding market integrity.
