Retail revenue reached £455m as Americas and Greater China growth offset EMEIA weakness in the 13 weeks to June 27.
Burberry reported a 5% increase in comparable retail sales for its first quarter, driven by strong demand in the Americas and Greater China. Reported retail revenue totaled £455m ($612.8m), with currency fluctuations adding a 1% boost to growth on a constant currency basis.
The Americas led regional performance with a 12% rise in comparable sales, fueled by local demand and new customers. Greater China followed with 9% growth, supported by Gen Z spending, while EMEIA declined 3% due to Middle East conflict fallout and lower tourist spending.
Outerwear and women’s handbags saw notable gains, with online sales advancing at a mid-teens pace. Store space reductions trimmed revenue by 1% over the quarter.
