Berkshire now holds $31 billion in Alphabet stock
Warren Buffett personally initiated Berkshire’s investment in Alphabet.
The investment includes $21 billion in public shares and a $10 billion private placement.
Berkshire’s portfolio now has Alphabet as its fifth-largest holding, behind Apple and others.
The move comes as bond markets show concern over AI infrastructure spending, with $1 trillion spent on data centers last year and $4 trillion in planned construction by 2030.
