France orders internet providers to block Polymarket
France’s gambling regulator has ordered internet service providers to block Polymarket, citing concerns over addictive mechanics and a lack of self-exclusion tools.
The regulator also noted that a high volume of French users had bypassed previous financial restrictions.
Polymarket drew 578,751 visits from 205,057 unique visitors in France in June, despite a ban on financial transactions in place since November 2024.
