Coca-Cola has temporarily suspended production at its Fairlife dairy business in the US after detecting unauthorized access to its network, including systems linked to production. The company confirmed the incident involved ransomware but did not disclose the responsible group or a timeline for restoring operations.
Fairlife, fully acquired by Coca-Cola in 2020, produces ultra-filtered milk, flavored beverages, and protein shakes. The company had announced a $650m investment in March to expand production lines at its Michigan plant, with operations set to begin in 2028. Coca-Cola stated that product quality and safety remain unaffected.
The company has engaged cybersecurity experts and law enforcement to investigate the breach. Operations in Canada remain unaffected by the incident.
