Hahn’s appointment follows his role in Verona’s $10 billion Merck acquisition after FDA approval of Ohtuvayre in 2025.

Slate Medicines, a private biotech focused on migraine treatments, has named Mark W. Hahn to its board of directors. Hahn previously served as CFO of Verona Pharma, where he oversaw Phase 3 trials, FDA approval, and the commercial launch of Ohtuvayre before its $10 billion acquisition by Merck in 2025.

The company highlighted Hahn’s 25 years of life sciences leadership, including experience guiding firms through clinical, financial, and commercial milestones. Slate Medicines is developing therapies for underserved migraine patients, positioning Hahn’s expertise as critical for its next growth phase.

Slate’s CEO Gregory Oakes stated Hahn’s background in private-to-public transitions will support the company’s efforts to expand treatment options.
